The Fount of Our Despair
The corruption of the ruling class is more brazen and shameless than any time in living memory. Those in power seem to work tirelessly every day to destroy the pillars of our society. Education, art, science, healthcare, the environment, civil rights. The coalition of racist fascists, christian nationalists, and capitalist oligarchs continuously display such an incomprehensible contempt for the well-being of the general populace.

Trying to understand these actors as fellow human beings denigrates and defiles my conception of humanity. Some find it easier to believe in literal demon-possession, rather than accept our shared humanity. But this cabal remains human, against all reason perpetuating their anti-human schemes.
I created this installation at The Beer Can House in September 2025. I put off releasing the pictures until the planned build video was done. That never ended up happening. I’d hoped to have gained some grander clarity on the nature of evil and how we should conceptualize the broader and more banal forces that created and enabled such actors. That also didn’t happen
