This was made as a site specific installation for the TEM conference in Madrid, Spain this year. I’d been wanting to make a koi fish piece for years now but could never find a context to make good use of the imagery. Here, I allude to the classic yin-yang motif to highlight the unique beauty of a medium so short-lived. Balloons are alive only because they also inevitably die, and their existence is all the more precious for it.
